Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards Meets Backyard Basics!

Can I just take a moment and say how much I LOOOOOVE the Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards and Envelopes from the Occasions Catalog?  Like, LOVE!  These note cards make creating a gorgeous project so easy and fast that I am hoping and praying Stampin’ Up! offers something just like these in the new catalog coming out in just about ONE MONTH!

This week I am going to feature a project every day using these handy note cards so you can see just how many variations you can get with this package of 20 cards, four each of five designs.  These note cards are made from a stock very similar to the watercolor paper and the designs and colors offer the perfect base for any kind of card.  Let’s look at the first one I want to share with you –

Watercolor Wonder Note Card with Watercolored Irises

Isn’t that just so pretty?  And it’s SO much prettier in person.  To be honest, if it weren’t for the time I spent watercoloring the die cut image, this would qualify as a five minute project.

The irises are cut from Stampin’ Up!’s Coaster Board which I used because the texture of the Coaster Board and the Note Cards was very similar AND because watercoloring on the Coaster Board is heaven!  But because the Coaster Board is between white and vanilla and the note card oval here is a pale yellow, I simply washed some So Saffron and Daffodil Delight over the Coaster Board until I had a nice match, let it dry completely and stamped with Jet Black Staz On and colored away with my Aquapainters and ink pads.  A quick bow with what might be my favorite trim, Seam Binding in Daffodil Delight, and application with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I have a simply stunning note card that’s perfect for any occasion because I was able to skip a greeting due to the detail of the image.

When you are planning your last Occasions Catalog order, be sure to add a package of these to your list.  At just SIXTY-FIVE CENTS per note card, you almost can’t afford NOT to have these in your stash!
